Hello Real World!

You know the saying..."Good things come when you least expect it."

Well I fully believe in it! I have been working at my current job going on 4 years now, through college and since my recent college graduation. I love it! The only problem is that it has nothing to do with my major, which was Dietetics, and I really felt that the health and fitness world was meant for me. Since graduation I have been searching high and low for that perfect job. I have had interview after interview and rejection letter after rejection letter. I was determined to find something!

So the next option/step to becoming a Registered Dietitian, after graduating from an accredited Dietetic program, is during your last semester. Many of my classmates decided they wanted to become an RD and applied for a Dietetic Internship. This sounded very intimidating to me! I was unsure as to what I wanted to do so I did not apply.

After searching and having zero luck I decided I would submit my applications this fall and put the whole job searching on hold so I started the process just this week, Monday. On Tuesday I recieved a phone call and email from an employeer I had had an interview with earlier this summer! I was SO excited. They had such good news! Little did I know they were going to offer me a job!! I happily accepted my first "BIG GIRL" job on Thursday! I am all smiles. :)

You know that "perfect job" that you dream of forever? Or the job you think you will LOVE? Well this is my perfect job! I want to work with children and I wanted it to be health and fitness based. Well that is exactly what I will be doing. I will be educating children in the local school districts about nutrition as well as people receiving food assistance. I just can't wait to start!

It is going to be hard to leave my current job because I really like the people that work here and I don't mind the job itself. I realized I was ready for something new. I am so excited to start this new chapter in my life and am SO lucky to have so many people celebrating/experiencing it with me!

Have a great weekend!
